“When she speaks her words are wise, and kindness is the rule for everything she says.” Proverbs 31:26
I didn’t really know what to expect when I started this blog or really have any clue what I was going to do exactly. It’s something I have never done before and don’t really have a whole lot of knowledge in. But, I set the goal and the expectation of myself to step outside of my comfort zone and here we are. I’m trying something brand new and hoping I can help people on their path to a better life in the process.
Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple said, “when you work towards something greater than yourself, you find meaning, you find purpose. So the question I hope you will carry forward from here is how will you serve humanity?”
I thought about that quote for a while and thought about the teachings the Lord had given me through the years. I pondered for a long time on what I could do to help the people around me and do something for the greater good. I decided I would begin sharing my experiences and try to impact anyone that was going through the same pain. I’ve loved being able to share with you guys and the support and feedback from everyone have been phenomenal. I’m excited to see where it all goes. It wasn’t easy for me to feel this confidence and I know getting that little extra motivation to really change that mentality is hard. So, I want to share with you some of the motivational pieces I listen to.
I first was introduced to Dr. Eric Thomas back in 2016 and it was one of the best things someone could have shown me. I play his speech “You Owe You” daily and it has changed my life and it reminds me of the path I need to be on daily. Many of his videos are truly inspiring but, this one never fails to get me going. Thomas was at one point homeless, as he touches on in the speech, but now he lives as one of the top motivational speakers and became a millionaire. A literal rag to riches stories; it’s inspiring. He doesn’t leave anything out and is brutally honest with how his life turned out how it did and what we are all doing that is holding us back.
From Thomas, I was introduced to another speaker, Les Brown. Brown, he inspires me in a whole different way. He’s got a serious side but can still be very funny through his speeches. His laugh will never fail to make me smile. But, he is extremely dedicated to helping people in any situation and wants everyone to achieve their best self. He believes it is everyone’s right to be as happy as possible and he wants to do whatever he can to help the world see it. He suggests that for 30 days you listen to three speeches of his to help change the negative mindset and instill a reminder of the positive way to live. I put those recommendations on where to start below.
These are not the only speakers that I frequently listen to but they are two very good speakers to start with. They’ve got countless videos to help change and inspire your mindset. I’ll introduce some more of my favorites later. Have a happy Monday everyone and remember to smile and spread the love.
