I hope everyone had a weekend filled with joy and some relaxation. My weekend was spent catching up on some chores. But, I was not upset with this as the only reason I was behind was that I spent a large part of last week visiting my mom and grandparents in Florida. It was great to leave the cold weather behind and catch a little sun with my family. I am so thankful that I have the chance to go and travel to different states and take vacations with my family. It is an amazing thing to see how happy my daughters are when we take trips; something I will always be grateful for. It fillls me with happiness knowing that I am able to show them this kind of opportunity. I remember when I didn’t even have five dollars to my name and now I can afford plane tickets. I used to lack motivation and never felt the full appreciation of the rewards of hard work. Which reminds me, if you’ve been sticking with the 30 days of gratitude we talked about, you should be feeling some major benefits from it now. I know that some of you have definitely been sticking with it because you have messaged me and shared some of your stories with me too. I love hearing from you guys and love hearing how I am helping you all! It is truly amazing to see that I am able to touch someone’s heart from my little writings. One of my friends even reached out to tell me how keeping her thoughts of gratitude has helped impact her relationship with her own children!
Let’s keep the trend going of moving forward and changing our lives to reach our full potential. Spring is around the corner and there is no better time to begin living your most positive life. I know that the winter weather is hard to motivate yourself through and it can be very taxing. I hate anything that isn’t at least 60 degrees and sunny. The lack of sun and the cold forcing you indoors can take a huge toll on your mentality. So, here are just a few things you can do to help put winter behind you and start with a fresh, new attitude for the spring.
#1) Take a deep breathe and let it go!
Seriously just breathe in real deep and breathe it all out. Breathe out your insecurities and whatever issues have been plaguing the last few months. We’re here to move forward now and let go of what is holding us back. I know that no matter what you are going through right now you can and you will rise above it and conquer it. I know that I have goals for myself this season as well. One of them is creating some healthy boundaries for my family and I. We all have something we can change for the new season so, let us do it together.
#2) Take some time and read a new book or two
Reading is so important for us! Most adults don’t even read a book once they leave school anymore. That blows my mind! It doesn’t matter what the book is or what you are reading but, take some time each day and read something new. Expanding your mind will expand your worldview which, in turn, will open your life up to more happiness. I know it is hard to find time to do this sometimes but, just a chapter a day will change you and teach you how to slow down a little in life. Let me know what books you guys start reading or ask for suggestions if you need one!
#3) Do something just for YOU!
I know we have talked about this before but, this is so important so I am going to tell you again. Do something just for you and only you. This can be anything that you like but preferably, do something that you really love and don’t get to do too often. It’s time we start showing ourselves more self-love and self-appreciation. Go spend the weekend with your best friend, get a pedicure, go see that movie you’ve been dying to watch. It doesn’t matter what it is but go do something that will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed! Go find something that is going to put you in a mentality of positivity and will help you view the things around you a little more positive.
These things all sound small and they can be but I promise you that you will see the benefit of doing all three. Go out there and tackle this week everyone and try to incorporate these things into your life. It is time that you fall in love with taking care of your mind, body and, spirit.
